Cross country for a Cause! One mile for 1st grade to 8th grade, High School and Post High School; 220 yd. for Pre-K; and 1/2 mile for Kinder. Benefits: Makumbi Children's Home in Zimbabwe. Event features: Great African raffle prizes, Zimbabwean Cultural booths organized by children; African animal mascots; Shona art exhibit; live Zimbabwean music, finisher tokens. The meet attracts both accomplished and novice runners.
There are 11 cross country races. 9 races are one mile. Girls' and boys' races are separate. The first race is at 12:15 p.m. The last race is at 3:30 p.m. The schedule is: Pre-School 220 yd., boys & girls 12:15 Kinder 1/2 mile boys & girls 12:30 All races below are one mile: 1st & 2nd grade girls, 12:50 1st & 2nd grade boys, 1:10 3rd and 4th grade girls, 1:30 3rd and 4th grade boys, 1:50 5th and 6th grade girls, 2:10 5th and 6th grade boys, 2:30 7th and 8th grade girls, 2:50 7th and 8th grade boys, 3:10 High School and Post High school 3:30 The entry fee is $5.00.
