This event is for runners who want to have official times. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each age group. Awards will also be presented to the overall male and female finishers. There will be water provided on the course and split timers at the 1 and 2 mile marks. The 5k will begin at the library, head up Ballpark Ave., pass under I-90, and travel on the bike path along Murray Addition before returning to the library along the same course. The 2 mile walk is a fun event with no official timing and no awards other than the Walkers’ Challenge. In the Walkers' Challenge, clubs, businesses, organizations, etc. are challenged to have the most participants pre-registered for the walk. The winners will receive a trophy to keep on display for a year. Members of the Walkers' Challenge are encouraged to dress as a team to win a prize, as well. The walk will be a loop from the library, down Sherman Street to the top of Bear Butte Cemetery, and then back down Main Street to the library. These races are designed to be fun for the kids, and each child receives a ribbon. The races are broken down by the age of the child, and the distances are relatively short (progressively longer as we go from Toddler to 7-year olds). No registration necessary. Just show up on race day! |
