The Beresford Quasquicentennial (125th) Planning Committee is sponsoring two road races during the community’s weekend celebration on Friday, July 3, 2009.
The “Fastest Mile in the Midwest” will be run along 13th Street in Beresford. The mile will begin near Beresford United Methodist Church located in southwest Beresford at the corner of south 13th Street and 298th Street (old Highway 77). The mile will end near Fiesta Foods located at the junction of north 13th Street and Highway 46. The mile race will begin at 9:00 a.m.
The 5K race will begin and end at Beresford High School located at 301 West Maple Street. The 5K race will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Packet Pick-up: Runners are encouraged to pick up race packets on Thursday evening, July 2 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Beresford High School Multi-purpose Room located at 301 West Maple Street. All other race packets will need to be picked up on race day from 6:45-8:15 a.m. in the same location.
Champion Chip: Both the mile and 5K races will be “champion chip” timed events.
T-shirts: High quality grey t-shirts with race logos and sponsors will be distributed to all registered runners.
Awards: Runner’s Block Gift Certificates will be awarded to the overall male and female winners, as well as the age group winners in both the mile and 5K races.
General Information: Bathroom and shower facilities will be available at the high school.
