Join us for the historic Elizabeth 8K Road Race presented by Presbyterian Orthopaedic Hospital and organized by the Elizabeth Community Association. This is the 24th annual edition, making it the oldest 8K race in Charlotte. Participants will enjoy event T-shirts (while supplies last), post-race refreshments, live music by Chris English and the North Americans, and overall and age group awards. Proceeds benefit the beautification of the Historic Elizabeth Neighborhood.

Schedule:

6:45 - 7:45 am: Race day registration and packet, bib and chip pick up

7:58 am: 8K Baby Jogger Start (chip-timed race)

8:00 am: 8K Start (chip-timed race)

8:05 am: 3K Start (untimed run/walk)

8:45 am: Yoga for kids 6-12 years old in Independence Park

9:00 am: Yoga for kids 5 and under in Independence Park

9:15 am: Liz Kids’ Fun Run in Independence Park

9:30 am: Awards Ceremony in Independence Park

Course Information:

The Elizabeth 8K Road Race is USATF certified course and a fantastic tour of the scenic residential streets of the Elizabeth neighborhood. Wheelchairs and baby joggers are welcome in the race. Water tables available along course and at finish.

Chip Timing:

The 8K race is chip-timed with the D-Tag TM from ChronoTrack Systems TM. Runners will receive a disposable chip at packet pick up or race day registration to attach to their shoe. The 3K run/walk is not chip timed.

Awards:

The first male and female finishers will each receive a 90-minute gift certificate to Breathe Organic Massage and a $75 gift certificate to Asana Activewear. Medals to the top 3 overall male and female, top 3 masters male and female, top 3 in age groups male and female (1-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+)
