2009 American Warrior Triathlon The Race: Since our race began 5 years ago, the amount of support, both from the competitors and the community has increased exponentially. The real benefactors of this race are the sons and daughters of our fallen Special Operations Soldiers. All proceeds go to the (SOWF) Special Operations Warrior Foundation, An organization that provides a college education for any child of a Special Operations solider who dies during active duty. For more information about who you are helping, go to: www.specialops.org. Awards: All race entrants will receive an American Warrior Triathlon T-shirt. Awards will be presented to top 2 male and female tri-athletes in each age group. Trophies: Will be given to the top 3 finishers in male, female and team divisions of the triathlon. Registration: Since race results are computerized, pre registration on-line is encouraged. Team Competition: Teams are encouraged to enter. Each team will consist of three members, male, female or mixed. The Course: The Race will begin with an open water swim in Lake Lyman, then transition to a 14 mile bike ride through the winding country roads of upstate South Carolina, ending with a 5k run in the town of Lyman SC. The finish line will be marked with a huge American flag waving between two fully extended fire engine ladders. Spaghetti Dinner & Silent auction: Friday Sept. 18 We are having a dinner and auction to raise money for the SOWF. The price of the competitors dinner has already been paid, if you would like to come and bring your family please do. Kids under 10 eat free; all others are $5.00 or $20.00 max for family. The Course: The Race will begin just off hwy 29 in Lyman SC @ Lifesong Church where it will wind through the scenic country just outside the town of Lyman. The run will finish @ the church under a huge American flag waving between two fully extended fire engine ladders.
