The MadMan Tri is a sprint triathlon with a variety of courses (distance) for participants of all ages, experience levels, and families. Individuals can choose to participate in the Traditional Course - 300yd swim, 9 mile bike, 2.25 mile run. Long Course - 500yd swim, 15 mile bike, 3.1 mile run. Avg Joe (Short Course) - 200yd swim, 5 mile bike, 1 mile run
The Traditional Course offers participants the option of competing in a Team, Athena (female>150lbs), or Clydesdale (male>200 lbs) divisions.
In addition to the Adult Triathlon, the MadMan Kids Tri offers three different distances for children ages 6-13. Kids may participate in the distance, which best fits their skill level.
The MadMan Tri is part of the SDTriNews points series. Additional information is available at http://sdtrinews.com/sdtrinews-points-series.html Swimming – The swim leg is completed in the indoor pool located at the Community Center. Participants enter the pool in the order of their bib number. Swimmers will swim in the same lane until completing the required number of laps for their course.
Biking – The bike leg will take participants through Madison and then out to the country, before turning around and coming back. Bike is a turnaround course on paved roads. There are different turnaround points for each course, so please be aware of the bike turnaround for your course. Rough road is marked as Caution Area on course map.
Running – The run course will take participants through Madison.
Transition Areas – located in Trojan Field Parking Lot on the eastside of the Community Center. Finishers Lane – The final ½ block ran through the Community Center curved parking lot to the FINISH LINE! This is a great area for spectators to gather and congratulate you for finishing the MadMan.

Early registration deadline is Friday, May 19th. To ensure proper swim order you must register by 12pm on May 26th. All registrants after May 27th will go into the water at the end of the line.

You must be at least 14 years old by the date of the event to participate in the Adult Triathlon.
For safety purposes all participants must wear a helmet during the bike route. Head phones with musical devices shall not be worn at any time during the triathlon.
Weather contingency plan is in place if necessary. Madison Community Center reserves the right to make course modifications or cancel event in case of inclement weather. No refunds.
